Η (ρητορική) ερώτησή μου αφορούσε (κατ' αρχάς) στην εποχή του 1776 (σε περίπτωση που αυτό δεν κατέστη σαφές από την παράθεση που έκανα).
Από κει & πέρα, μου φαίνεται τουλάχιστον αστείο (για να είμαστε & εντός θέματος τίτλου του παρόντος νήματος) να ισχυριστούμε πως οι 'Αμερικανοί' (με την σημερινή -πλέον- έννοια, αλλά κυρίως όσοι χαράζουν πολιτικές) δεν είναι αποικιοκράτες/ιμπεριαλιστές/κλπ.
